[Web](http://www.concours-general-agricole.fr) AgricultureFood & Beverage Joaquín Montesinos • Published October 4, 2026 The preservation of taste and genetic quality shapes the French agricultural calendar in late February. Concours General Agricole 2027 takes place from 27 February to 7 March in Paris and groups contests across products, wines and breeding stock. ## Dates and venue Concours General Agricole 2027 runs from 27 February to 7 March in Paris. The listed venue for this edition is Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, traditionally associated with the Salon International de l’Agriculture. ## What the competition awards and its structure The competition distributes awards across distinct categories: terroir products, wines, animals, agroecological practices and contests for young professionals. Medals of gold, silver and bronze are granted alongside a Prix d’Excellence for outstanding entries. Evaluation methods include blind tastings and technical assessments with samples taken from commercial stocks or directly from origin points to ensure impartiality. ## Sectors and exhibitor profile Participants include agri-food producers, breeders and actors in viticulture and regional gastronomy. Profiles on site typically feature livestock breeders focused on reproductive animals, specialists in equines such as horses, ponies and donkeys, as well as wineries, artisanal producers and dairies seeking recognition through medals. ## Program elements to note The Concours incorporates a prize for agroecological practices that highlights initiatives in pastures, grazing and agroforestry. There are seven contests dedicated to young professionals aimed at students and early-career entrants. The event also hosts spaces for restaurateurs and publishes results and prize lists for public consultation. ## Commercial prospecting and networking tactics Arriving with a focused plan increases commercial traction. Map the categories relevant to your offering and prepare samples plus technical sheets for immediate delivery. For animal exhibitors, bring pedigree and reproductive performance documentation. For food producers, include certifications and sensory profiles. Schedule meetings with restaurateurs and specialized buyers and use medal distinctions as a central argument in sales materials. ## Figures and heritage The Concours Général Agricole carries 150 years of history and continues issuing awards that reference quality across the French agri-food sector. The 2026 edition was noted as the 132nd edition and the organization announces the schedule for #CGA2027 on the dates above. ## Final note Companies aiming to engage professional buyers in France should prepare candidacy documents and samples well ahead of the event and check rules for submission, jury procedures and media resources on the official site [http://www.concours-general-agricole.fr](http://www.concours-general-agricole.fr) which centralizes registration, palmarès and participation guidelines. ## Looking for the Concours Général Agricole 2027 exhibitor list?
